| High School Kickers In-Season Workout Book
A wise saying says: “if you fail to plan, then plan to fail.” For years kickers have been overlooked by coaches with regard to how to practice, what to practice, how many to kick, etc. This workout book takes care of that for the coach and kicker! It is a complete practice plan that will make the kicker successful.
Specific Workouts with charts for high school kickers!
DAILY practice plans for the ENTIRE preseason AND in-season!
This workout book will provide the high school kicker with a complete in-season practice plan. A daily charting system accompanies each practice for the kicker to record their workout. The charting system will allow the coach and player to see strengths and weaknesses. Workout record keeping in the weight room has proven to be an effective training tool. This charting system mimics that concept for kickers. EACH kicker needs their own workout book to record their workouts! WHY an In-Season Kicking Workout Book
Every athlete needs to have a detailed practice plan in order to insure that he will develop and perform his skills successfully on game day. Failure to have such a plan will result in a "trial and error" performance. This prevents an athlete from developing to his maximum potential and helping the team win.
WHAT an In-Season Kicking Workout Book WILL Do
These in-season practice workout books provide a daily workout for a kicker. It begins with the first day of preseason practice and continues until the final game of the season. Each day has a preplanned workout for the kicker. It specifies the number of kicks, distances and hashes to kick from and the number of kickoffs to do for that day.
Kicking Workout Book Structure
Each practice has a chart for recording the workout. At the end of a week is a Weekly Summary Chart of the kicks for that week. This allows the coach to review the performance of the kicker for that week and make decisions for game day utilization.
A Total Summary Chart which keeps a cumulative total of the kicks is also tallied from week to week. The kickers charting information includes left hash, right hash, and middle kicks. The field goal distances are charted in 5 yard increments starting from 25-29 yards and moving back to 50+ yards. As the weeks go by a significant number of kicks accumulate to be able to accurately assess the kickers’ ability which the coach can use to put him in a position to be successful on game day.
The kicking workout books’ practice plan is structured to build toward maximum performance on game day. Heavy workouts are done on Monday through Wednesday tapering toward a Friday game day. A separate section details a practice plan for a Saturday game and a workout week for the playoffs.
This kicker’s workout program has been tried and tested by Coach Bill Renner during his 20+ years as a head high school coach. It has produced numerous decorated kickers who have earned college scholarships and more importantly it has turned aspiring kickers into game winning performers.
